Rubbish Audit

On Tuesday all the school rubbish on the entire school  was collected and today it was audited with New Turner and the school councillors. The findings were very interesting in one day our school produces over 26kgs of rubbish... Scary isn't it... Now the audit is completed Mrs Turner will be researching other ways we can eliminate rubbish without it all going to landfill. This afternoon we talked about the types of rubbish that can't be recycled or re-used and what we discovered was it was packaging from our food such as chip packages, museil bars and biscuits. So we deceided we would use all the packaging that was collected from the audit to see what was the most popular food item in our lunchbox and graph the results. In total we used 87 rubbish packets and we talked about if we were not a pack in pack out lunchbox school that number would be a lot higher. Check out the rubbish worm we made from the packages and food for thought questions on display tomorrow.
